Tree pruning is the selective removal of branches, buds or roots to improve the health, appearance and safety of your trees. Our qualified tree surgeons carry out all pruning work to British Standard BS:3998, retaining as natural a shape as possible.

Dead & Dangerous Wood

Removing dead, diseased or structurally weak branches reduces the risk of failure and protects both people and property below.

Shape & Balance

Balanced pruning improves a tree’s natural form, reduces wind resistance and encourages healthy new growth throughout the crown.

Clearance Work

We regularly prune trees away from buildings, roofs, gutters and overhead cables, and provide clearance for driveways and paths.

When Is Pruning Needed?

Trees benefit from regular pruning throughout their life. Work may be needed after storm damage, to remove branches that have grown over a boundary, to let more light into a garden, or simply to keep a mature tree in good shape. We assess every tree before starting and recommend only the work that is genuinely necessary — we will never propose unnecessary cutting.

Our Approach

All pruning is carried out to BS:3998 (Tree Work Recommendations) by our qualified and experienced team. We always aim to retain as natural a shape as possible. Waste is chipped or removed from site, and we leave the area tidy on completion. We cover Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Wetherby and surrounding North Yorkshire villages.
